Wow! We had a great time with this evening. The turnout
was phenomenal…thank you to all that came out to support your
students, the CHS staff, and our community. The clubs were
well represented with over 40 clubs present and ready to showcase
what they are all about. We had over 10 food booths put on by
student groups and booster groups. And our rally was the main
attraction. The real purpose resonated as we were able to
showcase our CHS Students: our cheerleaders, our band and our choir
as well as the ASB student leadership team. They had us all on
the edge of our seats just waiting to see what would happen next.
How about the staff coming in by department “Olympic” style led by
poster carrying ASB students? It was awesome and felt much
like a rock concert in the making.
The crowning jewel of the night was our generous and extremely
supportive parents’ club. They gave away gifts to our teachers
that represented dreams on the teacher’s wish list. TV’s,
document cameras, loads of paper towels, triple beam balances, and a
class set of guitars to name a few. Watching the excitement
not only from the teachers receiving these fabulous gifts, but also
the excitement on the faces of the members of our parents’ club
members was equally rewarding.
The crowd got to play along as well with cheers and a raffle.
The raffle prize was $100 each for one student (9th grader Breanna
Carrasco), one parent (Danelle Dix), and one teacher (Greg
Howard). Let’s not forget that English teacher Angie Jones was
the recipient of the massage package.
Many thanks to all for making this a night to remember. We are
on our way to making this a very spirited year. A huge thanks
to our AWESOME Parents’ Club. They have created an energy that
will last us for years to come. To join our parents’ club,
watch for our meeting dates online and feel free to join or contact
us at Calaveras High School Parent Club (chsparentsclub@gmail.com).

Thank you for your
support Calaveras Educational Foundation!
I would like to personally thank the Calaveras Educational
Foundation for their generous support over the years. I have
received a grant every year in this district and have been able to
purchase classroom supplies, science experiments, field trips, and
most recently, an iPad. Without their support I would never have
been able to establish my classroom as a new teacher. Everyone
benefits from these grants, especially our students. Your generosity
is greatly appreciated. I encourage parents, students, and teachers
to come up with funding ideas!
Sincerely,
Sarah Swift
