MATH TUTORS WANTED

The Career Center is now taking applications for Math Tutors

for the Spring semester.

 

Tutors must have an “A” in their current math class.

Teacher approval may also be required.

Math tutors make $10 per hours and work with students from elementary,

middle school and high school levels.

Please see Mrs. Tanner with any questions or to apply.

 

COMMUNITY COLLEGE ENROLLMENT

ATTN:  CHS SENIORS!!!

Community College enrollment will take place in February and March.  Seniors can sign up to attend an application workshop for Delta or Columbia colleges on the following days:

Delta College Workshop:  Feb. 29 – Study Hall – Career Center

Columbia College Workshop:  March 14 – Study Hall – Career Center

Seniors:  Get help enrolling at all other California Community Colleges.  Visit the Career Center for a pass. 

COMMUNITY COLLEGE ASSESSMENT

All Community Colleges require an assessment in Language Arts and Math before students can register for classes.  CHS Seniors with plans to attend Delta College may take their assessment in the CHS Career Center (by appointment only).  

Attending another college???  Make sure to contact your prospective Community College to get assessment dates and deadlines!!!

NOTE:  Some Community Colleges will allow the Delta College assessment test, but others will not (i.e.: American River CC, Sac City CC, Cosumnes River CC, and Folsom Lake CC require students to take their assessment only).

Juniors & Seniors who plan to apply to a 4-year college or university.

  ANNOUNCEMENTS 

SENIORS: 

4-year college bound seniors will receive admission notifications now through the end of March.  It’s important to let the college of your choice know you plan to attend.  Do not wait till the May 1st deadline!  Need help navigating your college financial aid offers?  Visit the Career Center.

2-year college bound seniors can attend the application workshops slated for this semester.  All Delta College students can take their assessment test in the CHS Career Center.  Appointments are necessary to take this assessment.  See Mrs. Tanner for more information.

JUNIORS:  

Planning on applying to a 4-year college this fall?  You are required to take the SAT or ACT as part of your college entrance requirements.   Sign up at the websites listed above.   Make a college planning appointment with Mrs. Tanner this spring to make sure you are on track to meet your goals! Start making a list of your activities and community service.

SOPHOMORES:

FRESHMEN: 

It's never too early to start planning for college!  Research colleges and majors online!  Review college entrance requirements so you will be on track to apply to 4-year colleges when you are a Senior!

PROSPECTIVE COLLEGE ATHLETES

Plan to play a sport in college? Prospective Student Athletes (PSA) should register for high-school courses in accordance with the High School graduation requirements as well as the NCAA core-course requirements.  After Junior high school year, PSA's should register with the CLEARINGHOUSE at
