Mokelumne Hill Elementary was founded in
1842.
Today, great grandparents, grandparents, parents
and community members throughout the town of Moke Hill
carry dear memories of their time at this school close
to their hearts. Mokelumne Hill Elementary is truly a
community school. The school campus is relatively new
since it was completed in 2000 due to the passage of a
bond measure passed in Calaveras County. The school’s
enrollment fluctuates between 100 and 120 students from
year to year. The small class sizes add to a positive
family atmosphere. Children are known personally by
name, and respect for and between children and adults
permeates the school.
Mokelumne Hill Elementary boasts a high API
score of 837. Students are encouraged to progress as
individuals on many levels. Thus, the whole child is
educated. The staff , parents ,and students demonstrate
pride in their school. The mascot of the gopher speaks
volumes in relation to Mokelumne Hill Elementary’s
philosophy.
Everyone is encouraged to “GO FOR IT!” |
